From Hernando to Disney

When most out of state folks hear Florida, they think Disney World. Sometimes, I have to remind them of the lovely beaches, golf communities, and fantastic restaurants that we have as well. Either way, if you’re in Hernando County, or plan to one day live here, two of the perks is that you are right by the water and under 2 hours from Disney.

So even though this isn’t a highlight in Hernando, I’ve still grouped it under a Highlight of Hernando simply because we live so close!

It comes as no surprise, but, Disney can get very crowded. The rule of thumb is that if there are days where there is no school, expect that people will be flocking to the happiest place on earth. The best time to avoid crowds is right when school is back in session, and right after the winter break.

Magic Kingdom is the original park, and it has seen major changes in recent years, including Fantasy Land and the changes with Toon Town turning into Storybook Circus.

Fantasy Land has a new Snow White ride called Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

Dumbo had also been moved to the Storytime Circus area. There are now two Dumbo rides.

New additions also include the Under the Sea ride, Be Our Guest Restaurant, and Rapunzel’s Tower.

Of course, the classics still remain, including Snow White, Peter Pan, and It’s a Small World. The Haunted Mansion still scares, and the other rides like Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain are still rolling.

Be sure, if you are not too tired, to stay for the evening. The lights make this place just as magical at night. Also, don’t forget the fireworks!

There are park-hopper options, annual pass options, and day-to-day passes. Be sure to check out the website for more information.

New Listings in Highly Sought-After Community of High Point

No matter the shape, size, or location of a house in the 55+ community of High Point (Brooksville, Hernando County, Florida), when it appears on the market, inquiries and showings begin within the first 24 hours as a general rule.  Listings come and go quite rapidly, and it is not unheard of for a piece of High Point real estate to list in the morning and sell in the evening.  Even with this level of demand, prices remain affordable, sustaining buyer interest throughout the year.  To be sure, the seasonal “snowbird” crowd is well represented here, but by and large people come here to retire and live year-round.  The sense of community is keenly felt, and perhaps this is as much a result of the management’s commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, secure, and fun lifestyle as it is to the character of the residents themselves, who, either on the golf course, in the clubhouse at a social event, or sitting on their porches enjoying the songs of birds and the pleasant weather, seem to all share a love of active tranquility, of a perfect balance of community and privacy.  If any of this appeals to you, visit our High Point Community Page, or better yet, get in touch to learn more.

Remember, despite (or perhaps because of) the friendly, relaxed environment of High Point, the real estate market here is swift and competitive, so don’t delay.
